• High recovery rate of total nucleated cells (TNC) (%). The average recovery rate of TNC for all banked samples is 97.6% (20% higher than those published in scientific journals). The average recovery rate is based on all cord blood banked with Progenics and is not based on a small number of experimental samples. This distinguishes Progenics’ results from claims that are made by most other banks.
• Low contamination by red blood cells (Hct) in the final product of processed cord blood.  The average contamination by red blood cells (Hct) is 8.4% (2-4 times better than most banks).

Progenics proves our quality by issuing a unique Certificate of Cryopreservation containing the recovery rate of TNC (%) and the concentration of red blood cells (Hct) left in the banked cord blood after processing. To our knowledge, the certificate is the only one of its kind worldwide.

Progenics guarantees that the recovery rate of TNC will be ≥ 80%. If it is below 80%, clients will receive cord blood banking service absolutely free including all fees plus 20 years of free storage. 

To our knowledge, this guarantee is only offered by Progenics.  As stated above, for most banks their average recovery rates are below 80%.

We use Pall cord blood collection bags which are sterile both inside and outside which is critical for C-sections.

We use Pall freezing bags that have two compartments, so the cord blood stem cells could be used up to two times.

We provide free shipping of the collection kit to you and free bed side pick up of the cord blood in the GTA. For locations outside the GTA, Progenics provides partial compensation for the courier fees.
